iPads sold in China come with a two-year AppleCare warranty as a standard option, according to a new report. Citing a South China Morning Post article, Bloomberg reports that because the Chinese government has categorized the iPad as a laptop computer, Apple by law must offer a two-year warranty for key components. iPads sold in other parts of the world come with a one-year limited warranty by default; the company sells an extra year of AppleCare coverage for $99.
