While reviewing the new iPhone technologies, Apple CEO Tim Cook noted that “every major car brand” has committed to supporting CarPlay, stating that 40 new car models are expected to be announced this year with built-in CarPlay support.
Notably, however, it’s unclear what Cook means by “committed” in this context, particularly in light of Toyota’s recent statement that it has no plans to adopt CarPlay in the near term.
