Facebook has released an update to its Facebook Messenger app for the iPhone and iPod touch adding support for viewing friends’ online and mobile status and the ability to see when other users in a conversation thread are typing a message. The update also prioritizes the friends’ list for composing new messages to allow users to easily select the friends they communicate with the most. Additional changes include performance improvements, support for 12 additional languages and compatibility with iOS 5. Facebook Messenger is available from the App Store as a free download.
