Siri is about to have some more competition, with Google Assistant set to release on iOS “soon,” according to Android Police. A source said the announcement could come as soon as this week’s Google I/O conference.
The report is short on details, but speculates that the app could feature a blend of the voice-activated version on Android devices and the chat-style functionality see in Google’s Allo messaging app. The app is expected to only be available in the US at launch.
