Hulu has released an update to its streaming application for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad adding a new split-screen player mode for iPad users and making enhancements to queue and subscription management from within the app. Hulu Plus 2.0 also improves playback performance and changes the thumbnail behaviour in the iPad version. Hulu also announced today that its Hulu Plus service originally released as a preview this past summer has now been officially launched. Hulu has been offering its television content streaming service free to desktop PC and Mac users for some time, however users must subscribe to the Hulu Plus service for $8/month to view content on mobile devices such as the iPhone and iPad. Hulu Plus 2.0 is a universal app and is available from the App Store as a free download. [via Mac Rumors]
