Hyundai has released a software update that brings CarPlay to eight additional vehicles. The company didn’t publicly announce the news, but dealers were informed on May 19 that the 2016 Elantra GT, 2015 and 2016 non-hybrid Sonata, 2017 Santa Fe Sport, 2017 Santa Fe, 2015 and 2016 Genesis Sedan and 2016 Tucson would all be eligible for the upgrade as of yesterday.
These models join the 2016 Sonata, 2017 Elantra and 2017 IONIQ, which were announced as the first Hyundai models to be receiving CarPlay.

Hyundai owners are encouraged to download the update from the company’s website and go through the installation themselves. The update can be transferred to an SD card from the user’s computer and downloaded into the car’s computer system through the in-dash port.
