Apple’s next-generation iPhone will feature a dual-LED flash, according to a new report. Citing “recent market rumors,” DigiTimes reports that Everlight Electronics, Edison Opto, and Lite-On Technology have all been mentioned as possible suppliers.
All three companies have denied they are involved in the production of dual-LED flashes. The report goes on to state that recent reports have indicated that Apple recently reduced its orders for Lumileds high-power LED flash products from Philips and switched the orders for LED flashes to unnamed Taiwan-based manufacturers.
A dual-LED flash module would provide brighter, more even illumination for flash photography compared to the current single-LED module in the iPhone 4.
