In addition to nTelos, a handful of other regional carriers will be launching the iPhone on April 20. AppleInsider notes that Alaska Communications, Appalachian Wireless of Kentucky, GCI of Alaska, and Cellcom of Wisconsin will all launch the iPhone on April 20.
As mentioned in the report, GCI operates a GSM network, and may therefore offer the iPhone 3GS for free on a two-year contract, while the others operate CDMA networks, and will therefore be limited to offering the appropriate variant of the iPhone 4 as well as the iPhone 4S. Apple first expanded iPhone distribution to regional carriers las November with the launch of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S on C Spire Wireless.
