Apple’s carrier partners are currently testing iPhone models with fourth-generation Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology, according to a new report. Citing an internal iOS test build, Boy Genius Report claims that the software contains a property list file for LTE, suggesting that at least some current test units contain LTE-capable hardware. Notably, the report does not claim that the fifth-generation iPhone will contain the technology—that is unconfirmed—but instead aims to offer up evidence that Apple is testing iPhone units with LTE functionality for a future release.
