A number of second-generation Apple TV users are reporting that they are unable to update their units. According to a lengthy thread on Apple’s Support Communities site, afflicted users are left unable to update their devices using the devices themselves or via iTunes. One user indicated that Apple is aware of the issue, which is reportedly related to problems with the company’s various update servers. That same post indicated that Apple hoped to have the problem fixed by tomorrow, June 28; notably, the problem does not appear to affect all users, and seems to be at least slightly related to the user’s geographic location.
