Speaking in an interview with the New York Times, Apple CEO Steve Jobs has revealed that PA Semi, a chipmaker recently purchased by Apple, will build chips for both the iPhone and iPod.

“PA Semi is going to do system-on-chips for iPhones and iPods,” Jobs said.

Apple confirmed an agreement to purchase the firm, known for its design of sophisticated, low-power chips, in April.
