Rachio has announced the addition of HomeKit support to its smart sprinkler controller, allowing iOS users to tie the device into the Apple Home app and use Siri to access their sprinkler system, making it the first such system to join the HomeKit ecosystem. Users of the Rachio 3 Smart Sprinkler Controller will be able to control their sprinklers by using Siri commands from any iOS device, the Apple TV, Apple Watch, or HomePod, including starting and ending watering routines, queuing up watering zones, and setting custom watering durations. “We are excited to bring HomeKit support to Rachio customers,” said Chris Klein, CEO and co-founder of Rachio. “HomeKit users already have a smart home, and now they can have a smart yard, too. Rachio consumers have been asking for HomeKit integration, and we are excited to deliver it to them with our new Rachio 3 Smart Sprinkler Controller.” HomeKit integration is available for all Rachio 3 owners beginning today via an update to the Rachio iOS app.
