Tossing water on long-spread but highly questionable rumors that Apple will begin pre-orders for the new iPhone immediately following the device’s introduction, MacRumors claims that pre-orders for the new iPhone may not start until Friday morning. The iPhone 4S was scheduled for a Friday launch following the device’s media event, and the new iPhone is believed to be on a similar timeframe, with a one-week window for advance ordering. According to the report, Apple is increasing sales support staffing for 6 a.m. Eastern on Friday, in preparation for a “major surge” in orders that day.
