A judge has recently denied Samsung’s motion to stay a patent infringement damages trial with Apple. Samsung argued the trial should be put on hold due to the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s rejection of Apple’s “pinch to zoom” patent. The motion wasn’t filed until last Wednesday, a day before Samsung was ordered to pay $290 million in additional damages to Apple. Judge Lucy Koh rejected the argument on Monday, saying expediting the case to the Federal Circuit after the ruling would best increase efficiency. [via CNET]
