Sanofi-Aventis has introduced its iBGStar Blood Glucose Meter for the iPhone and iPod touch. The dock-connecting device uses proprietary Dynamic Electrochemistry to analyze blood samples for more accurate results, and offers the ability to operate on its own or in concert with the iBGStar Diabetes Manager App. The app extends the meter’s functionality, allowing users to input data with specific notes, record, track, and manage their information and history, and print or share the data with their healthcare professional. The iBGStar Blood Glucose Meter for iPhone and iPod touch is awaiting FDA approval and is expected to sell for around $80. [via Engadget]
