Scosche unveils new BoomBottle, Rhythm24, and wireless charging solutions at CES 2018

Scosche unveils new BoomBottle, Rhythm24, and wireless charging solutions at CES 2018

Scosche has announced its 2018 product lineup, including an update to the company’s BoomBottle rugged portable speaker and Rhythm heart monitor and a new lineup of wireless charging and mounting solutions. BoomBottle MM is the company’s latest rugged waterproof speaker, building off the 2015 BoomBottle+, and features two six-watt speakers and two 40 millimeter passive radiators and is IP67 rated for dust and water protection. Additional new features include an auto-sensing indoor/outdoor equalizer and support for Scosche’s built-in MagicMOUNT technology so users can keep their iPhone magnetically secured to the speaker (although wireless charging is not included). A magnet on the bottom of the speaker allows it to be easily attached to a metal surface at virtually any angle, and it also includes a built-in bottle opener.

Scosche’s new Rhythm24 heart rate monitor is a follow-up to the company’s 2014 Rhythm+, with a new design, more features, and variable activity modes.  The new model includes 24-hour battery life, an IP68 sweatproof/waterproof rating, and five basic training modes along with two advanced multimodes for biathletes and triathletes. On-board data recording means users can leave their iPhone behind and sync up their data after their workout. A wide range of heart rate data can be captured, including heart rate variability (HRV), and standardized heart rate profiles are included for activites like swimming, running, and cycling. Data can be synced with a wide variety of popular fitness apps using Bluetooth Smart or ANT+ technology.

The company has also expanded its popular MagicMOUNT system with a MagicMOUNT Elite lineup, featuring five different models of its cradle-free, magnetic mobile device. The new cradles are made from military-grade metal alloy and stainless steel and use ball-joint sockets for 360-degree rotation, and use the same powerful rare-earth neodymium magnets as prior models. In addition, new MagicMOUNT Pro Charge models provide Qi-comaptible wireless charging at five- and ten-watt capacities compatible with the iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus. A new Qi Dock Powerbank rounds out Scosche’s new Qi charging lineup with a desktop cradle that allows both an iPhone or other Qi-enabled device and a portable power bank simultaneously.

All of the products in Scosche’s new lineup are expected to be available this spring. Pricing has not yet been announced.
