Skype Software has released an update to its Skype iPhone application that brings multitasking support to iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS units running iOS 4.0. The update allows users to receive Skype calls and IMs while other apps are running or even when the phone is locked, and also allows users to continue current calls when switching to another application.
Curiously, the update is listed in the App Store as version 2.0.1, but the release notes refer to it as version 2.1. Skype for iPhone is available now as a free download from the App Store.
