The History of Jazz adds new Jazz Legends, updated content

955 Dreams has released a major update to its iPad reference app, The History of Jazz, adding information on 30 new Jazz Legends and additional updated content. The History of Jazz is an interactive timeline that allows users to explore the background and culture of jazz music through a rich media experience of audio, video and interactive text.

Users can travel through the various jazz eras and genres learning about key figures in jazz history with videos, short biographies and more detailed encyclopedia content; each artist also includes a curated list of essential songs and albums that the user can sample or purchase on the iTunes Store. Version 2.0 updates the video and other content and adds information on 30 additional Jazz Legends including Oscar Peterson, Nina Simone, Bessie Smith, Horace Silver, Chris Connor and more.

The History of Jazz is available from the App Store for $5.
