THX has sued Apple alleging an infringement of speaker technology in iPhones, iPads and iMacs, according to a report. A complaint filed by THX refers to a 2008 patent for a narrow profile speaker unit that can attach to computers or flat screen TVs and output sound through a slot with a narrow dimension. The lawsuit maintains Apple products containing the speaker units infringe the patent and cause THX “monetary damage and irreparable harm.” THX seeks a court order to stop the infringement, and a royalty or damages to compensate for lost profit.
