Speaking with AllThingsD, Verizon spokeswoman Brenda Raney said that “We will move to a more usage based model in July,” adding, “We’ll share more later.” A prior report from Android enthusiast site Droid Life indicated that Verizon would institute tiered pricing on July 7, with plans ranging from $30 monthly for 2GB to $80 a month for 10GB of data, and tethering available as a $20 add-on including an extra 2GB of data.
Verizon has offered unlimited data plans to all iPhone customers since the device’s launch in February.
