Google has announced that its live TV service, YouTube TV, is now available for Apple TV users in the U.S. For a base $35 monthly cost, the service provides subscribers with more than 40 live channels from major networks such as CBS, Fox, NBC, and CBS, as well as sports networks such as ESPN and Fox Sports. The service also includes unlimited cloud DVR storage.

Google unveiled the new YouTube TV service last March, but no specific mention of the Apple TV was made at that time, and when the service launched a few months later, a tvOS app was conspicuously missing, supporting only the more likely Chromecast and Android TV platforms, as well as Xbox One and some Samsung and LG smart TVs, although a report last fall noted that an Apple TV app was in the works. The new YouTube TV app is available on the U.S. tvOS App Store. [via Engadget]
