Update:iLounger, Kevin A. sent an email with some information. “I talked to someone at the Apple online store, and they told me that you need a “special promotion code” in order to be eligible for the special price.” This deal seems to have disappeared from the Apple website as well. Cases: Contour Design iSee Case
We recently emailed Contour Design regarding their new iSee iPod case. The iSee prototype debuted at Macworld New York in July 2002 and is the first hard case for iPod. Made of hard, clear plastic, iSee has full-access functionality and comes with a detachable earphone case. According to the emails we’ve recieved, the iSee is undergoing minor tweaks due to it apparently scratching the iPod’s Lucite surface after repeated opening. The updated iSee case will be available sometime after September 10. The iSee fits previous model iPod 5GB, 10GB and new 5GB models. Contour Design also noted that if they decide to make the iSee fit the new iPod 10GB and 20GB models, it could be up to a year before release.

Homemade iPod Stand
iLounger, “RObot” has created himself an iPod stand from a metal picture frame.
“Hello, I just bought a 5gig iPod. I love it but I never know where to place it when I am using it. I use it at my desk and in my car. I was looking at the available desk stands and I felt all the designs were overkill or ugly. I wanted something that was simple that didn’t take away from the great design of the iPod. Plus I wanted the iPod to compliment my Sony ClieT 665 when it was sitting in the cradle. So I made this from a metal picture frame. The black material is a spongy foam rubber, so it grips the ipod from sliding off. I also lined the bottom with this.”
