iPod coming to Target stores soon?
A Target employee has sent us email informing us of the possibility that iPod will be sold at Target stores.
“I work at Target during the 3rd shift. We unload the truck and put the merchandise on the floor. Tonight a box w/ an Apple logo came down the line. “iPod display” We put this item in back stock meaning it was not heading to the floor. Since I don’t work in the back I have no idea when this item is going to be displayed. This is the only item I saw. I was only in the back for a short time. They were telling us the reason the truck was so big tonight was because of those ships in California where the workers were on strike is finally moving and we’re getting so much merchandise. THIS IS NO JOKE, OR HOAX. I’m a huge Apple fan and almost fell over when I saw it thinking it was a mistake. Please take this message serious as you will all learn shortly when they discuss the 3rd party stores besides Best Buy that they plan to sell the iPod at.”
We’ve spoken with the Target employee on the phone and believe the story to be genuine. Look for iPods at your Target store soon.

“More than musical?”
Russell Kay of InfoWorld writes a review of the iPod and questions its use for business.
“We’ve given the iPod quite unbalanced scores, because it does some things superbly and others not so well. As a music player it’s wonderful, with its incredibly convenient ability to store music from hundreds of CDs yet still retrieve them by artist, album, or track title. As a PIM, the iPod is limited. Maybe that will change. But for now, the inability to make changes or additions on the go means that you still have to take your real PDA along.”
“Hands on with the 20GB iPod for Mac, Windows”
Jim Dalrymple of MacCentral writes a hands on review of the iPod 20GB for Mac and Windows.
“Overall the iPod is a great device that I use all the time listening to music (and now books) and also transferring files and a backup for my most important files when traveling.”
