Homemade iPod CD Cassette Adapter Mount
Justin Pinder has informed iLounge of his homemade iPod cassette adater mount.
“I was using a CD cassette adapter, but I found it to be a nuisance to connect and difficult to see and control the iPod while driving. One day it struck me that I could use the CD cassette adapter to support the iPod, and I set out to create a simple (and inexpensive) design incorporating this idea.”
Mac: iPod2iTunes 1.8 Beta 1 Released
“iPod2iTunes is the only utility which provides real synchronization of tracks and playlists from your iPod(s) to your Mac(s).
The synchronization ensures that no duplicates are produced as it is easily possible if files are copied from the iPod via other blind methods.
iPod2iTunes can be used to keep music on different Mac’s up to date, to do a full restore of tracks and playlists after a hard disk failure, to revert accident deletion of tracks or to clone an iPod.”
- What’s new in v1.8 Beta 1:
- Playlist Synchronization:
- Massive speed increase. A quick comparison between 1.7 and 1.8 showed 600% more speed. I will do more detailed speed tests in the next beta since it is expected to add even more speed.
- Synchronization of tracks with ‘special’ properties.
- Cleanup is many times faster. This is especially notable with a large iTunes library.
- Subsequent playlist synchronizations have not worked in iTunes 2.x.
- In some sutiations a timeout error happened.
- iPod2iTunes picks up the original folder automatically in case the iTunes music folder is an alias.
- iTunes version check showed in some cases “iTunes not found”.
- OS version check failed in some cases. Hopefully fixed.
- Other fixes and improvements.
- Documentation updated.
