It might be new to the iOS accessory space, but Apogee Electronics has been developing audio gear for 25 years, and its recently-released iOS guitar adapter Jam ($99) is right in line with its well-established musicians’ tools.

The silver and black plastic box has a guitar input port on one side, a multi-device connector on the other, and a gain knob in the center, indicating power and input level with a light on its face.

A Dock Connector cable is included for use with the iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch, while a USB cable can be used with Macs, providing Apple users with the ability to connect an electric guitar or bass for use with Garageband and other audio apps.
