Review: Apple Computer iPod Earphones (9/2006)

[Editors’ Note: On November 1, 2006, iLounge published The 2007 iPod Buyers’ Guide, with more than 30 brand new, capsule-sized product reviews – only for products we considered to be amongst the very best we’ve seen throughout the year. The short review below is excerpted from the Guide, which you can download here.]

Review: Apple Computer iPod Earphones (9/2006)

For the first time since we began to publish our Buyers’ Guides three years ago, we are actively recommending Apple’s iPod Earphones as a replacement for… Apple’s iPod Earphones.

If you have an older iPod, you most certainly have the company’s prior-generation buds, which only felt comfortable in many ears when covered with black included foams, and lacked for bass. Apple’s just-released replacements are silicone-edged for extra comfort, sound even better (including more apparent bass), and are smaller and lighter.

If you don’t want canalphones, which offer superior sound isolation, they’re worth the low price of an upgrade.
