It seems like every iPod/iPhone accessory developer on the planet is getting into the earphone racket these days with Chinese-made canalphones, and now we can add well-known film and case maker BodyGuardz/NLU to the list of examples. Using two-toned metal bodies in some unusual color combinations — rust brown with silver rings or glossy black with blue rings — BodyGuardz has released Earjax Moxy ($65), with a mic-laden version going for $70. Moxy oddly has fabric cabling running down from the bottom of its Y-joint, and plastic cabling running to the two earbuds, which angle their tips inwards towards your ear canals. Each comes with a semi-hard zippered carrying case, metal carabiner hook, cable winding insert, detachable shirt clip, and seven sets of rubber eartips in various sizes and colors. The sound has a significant bass push, and the integrated mic has an old-fashioned single-button remote to stop and start audio playback.
