    Preview: BoxWave Battery Adapter PRO

By Jeremy HorwitzMay 15, 2021 6:51 pm UTC

Like the company’s VersaCharger PRO, Battery Adapter PRO ($28) is designed for use with any USB device, and thereby is supposedly capable of charging iPods or iPhones when attached to a BoxWave miniSync cable, which is not included in the package. You self-supply four AA batteries, which go into a compartment and provide power for both the attached device and three bright integrated LED lights on the side. The amount of extra power added to a specific device depends on its battery drain, and the LED lights can be turned off when you don’t want them to illuminate a dark area. [Editor’s Note: Our Battery Adapter PRO failed to work properly with late 2006 iPods or an iPhone, but did work with a 2005 iPod.]
