Sent to us too late to fully review, Braven’s 570 ($100) is the company’s least expensive portable speaker. Made from plastic rather than the company’s trademark aluminum, and offered in white, purple, green, or red colors, 570 is effectively a downgraded version of the since-discontinued Braven 650, with a highly similar design featuring two front-firing active drivers and two rear-firing passive subwoofers.
Audio quality is pretty good for the price — clarity suffers noticeably throughout the spectrum, but both treble and bass are reasonably well represented. Ten hours of play time are promised for the speaker, which can also double as a low-capacity battery pack for iPhones and iPods thanks to an integrated outbound USB port.
A micro-USB cable and 3.5mm audio cable are included in the package.
