These three leather iPod nano cases – called Chic Leather Cases ($20) by Capdase – are sold individually in black, brown, and white colors. They’re so simple and are exceedingly threadbare that we didn’t think them worthy of a full review: all you get is a leather iPod sleeve with a metal snap and D-ring on its back, the latter intended for attachment to a lanyard you can buy optionally.

Unlike almost all of the nano cases we’ve tested, no screen or Click Wheel protector is included, and the iPod’s corners, Hold switch, headphone port and Dock Connector port are all either entirely or partially exposed. This provides simple access to the nano’s key features, but very little protection.

Though these cases aren’t very expensive, and Capdase’s leather and stitching both look pretty nice, they’re not cases we’d recommend to any iPod nano user concerned about really protecting that model’s notoriously scratchable surfaces.

Even for the price, you can do considerably better than this in protectiveness, say nothing of pack-ins and design. Consider these decorative solutions at best, or plan to upgrade them with $15-20 Power Support or InvisibleShield film protection before use.
