Two new iPad-ready bags from Cocoon Innovations are designed to sling over your body in different ways while holding iPads and other items inside. First is the purse-like Gramercy Messenger Sling ($30), which uses water-resistant ballistic nylon in one of three colors for its outer layer, save for a clear, touch-through window pocket on the front that can hold an iPhone or iPod, even (snugly) within a case. The back has a fully open, large pocket that could hold a water bottle or magazine, while the center is a generously-sized, zippered compartment with modest padding for an iPad or similarly-sized, thicker device. An adjustable shoulder strap and a Grid-It rubberized woven elastic organizer for holding accessories, pens, paper notebooks, and other items are also included. By comparison, the 10″ Harlem Netbook/iPad Sling ($55) is a more unusual design: made from the same ballistic nylon and also offered in three colors, it too comes with a zippered iPad compartment, a Grid-It organizer, and an adjustable strap, but is made to be worn across the body. Padding on its rear will soften its impact on your front or back, and two zippered pockets on the front provide enough space to hold a ton of different items — some highly organized within sub-pockets — while a rubber headphone hole lets you keep your iPhone or iPod operative while inside.
