Developed by Trinity, the Japanese company behind the Simplism line of budget cases and iPod/iPhone/iPad accessories, The Fingerist ($150) is pitched as an “adapter for playing musical instrument applications on the iPhone and iPod touch.” Combining a three AA battery-powered speaker — you supply the batteries — and a plastic shell designed to imitate the general shape of a guitar, the accessory includes three silicone rubber sizing shells designed to hold the iPhone 3G/3GS, iPhone 4, or iPod touch 2G/3G, a guitar strap, and a carrying case.
A line-out on the bottom is compatible with guitar amplifiers if you want to skip the integrated speaker.
Our gut feeling is that most people will balk at the price, given that even $30 gaming cases for the iPhone and iPod touch have been hard sells, but perhaps the draw of the six-hour speaker will appeal to some people.
