First Look: Grace Digital Eco Extreme Speaker Case

By Jeremy HorwitzMay 14, 2021 7:10 pm UTC

Device-agnostic and only vaguely of interest due to the lack of external iPod/iPhone controls, Grace Digital’s new Eco Extreme Speaker Case ($50) is a waterproof, shockproof hard plastic box with a single 3-Watt speaker inside and a carabiner clip attached to the top. You place your iPod or iPhone inside, connect a 3.5mm headphone cable, press play, and seal the case up; a volume control knob doubles as a power switch for the case. Three AA batteries need to be inserted into the inner compartment for 30 hours of play time, but aren’t included. The only way to control the playback of music is to open the case and fidget with the iPod or iPhone.
