Though they’re different in design, Griffin’s new Elan Holster Metal ($35) + Elan Passport Wallet ($40) for iPhone 4 use similar materials to update the company’s earlier flip-open designs. Elan Holster Metal is a follow-up to the company’s earlier iPhone Elan Holster, adding a metal bar to the horizontal edge of its Velcro-based flap, and a soft fabric color accent bar to its bottom.
A belt clip on the back enables the Holster to be mounted like a sunglass holder on your belt. By comparison, Elan Passport Wallet is a miniature wallet with an iPhone compartment on its right and three pockets on the left, two for cards and the third with enough room for a few folded bills.
Metal rings the entire front flap, which closes to protect the iPhone 4 using a tab and a snap. Each case comes in a masculine square grid perforated black faux leather, and a more feminine silver metallic faux leather with a psychedelic paisley interior; the silver Elan Passport Wallet also includes a matching hand strap.
