Hard Candy has released its first case for the iPad 2, a folio called Candy Convertible ($45). Almost identical to Apple’s iPad Case for the first generation iPad — and Hard Candy’s earlier clone — this model adds a business card pocket on the inner flap, and is made from a faux-leather microsuede-like material rather than polyurethane. Available in either black or red, the iPad 2 slides into the right hand side and is secured with a tuck-under flap. Inserting the front cover of the case into the sewn on holder on the back transforms it into a stand. In our pre-production model, all of the openings were a little askew, demonstrating the difficulties of producing an accessory for a device before actually having it in hand. Hard Candy has a couple of weeks to get Candy Convertible right before its March 30 ship date.
