As its own spin on the tire-styled iPod cases released by companies such as Speck, Case-Mate, and iFrogz, Hard Candy Cases is offering an iPad case called Street Skin ($40, formerly Rubber Protect), made from clear, black, or pink TPU rubber with a rugged textured design. The front of the case has a half-matte, half-glossy snap-on integrated screen protector, which can be made to open as a flap for any iPad orientation using four corner pegs, while the top, sides, and bottom offer open access to all ports and controls.

Our comments on Street Skin are the same as for Street Skin, except that this case is opaque, thicker, and just a little less compatible with accessories—the Camera Connection Kit doesn’t work. But it’s also more distinctive in design than the Sleek Skin. With some revisions, it may well improve.
