While we haven’t been huge fans of iFrogz’ past earphones due to so-so sound and horrible, skin-tearing blister wrap packaging, the company has continued to release new and inexpensive models to update its range. Timbre Pro ($50) has a lot in common with the Thinksound series of wood-bodied canalphones, using wood chambers to hold 7mm drivers, and including tangle-free fabric cords with traditional one-button mic and remote units. Vertex ($50) houses 40mm drivers inside of plastic and foam-cushioned on-ear cups, also including an in-line mic and remote for calling purposes. Both of these models thankfully come in less hand-damaging boxes than their predecessors, and are being pitched as part of the iFrogz Audio line as opposed to the earlier, teen-focused Earpollution series.
