Along with Lexington, Incipio has released another brand new case for the third-generation iPad: Slim Kickstand ($40). Although both are made of the same materials and share a similar structure, there are some distinct differences between the two. Slim Kickstand’s hard plastic shell is shaped just a little bit differently, offering a touch less protection at the far edges. Both the shell and the front cover are covered in faux leather, with a six-inch wide portion attaching the two and folding out to form a stand. Two depressions on the inside of the cover allow for as many viewing angles. There aren’t any magnets in the first run of the case, but an elastic band is attached to keep the folio shut when not in use.
