Review: Ivyskin Quattro-T2 Polysilicone Case for iPhone 3G

Review: Ivyskin Quattro-T2 Polysilicone Case for iPhone 3G

As the latest Ivyskin iPhone 3G case to arrive for testing, the Quattro-T2 is a combination of a rubber case, a plastic front shell, and a touch-through glass screen protector surface. Available in multiple colors, Quattro-T2 unfortunately has one of those “hole in the back for the Apple logo” designs, requiring you to insert an included piece of circular plastic for protection.

That said, it offers plenty of iPhone body coverage, with part-time flaps for the headphone and Dock Connector ports, full button covers, and holes only for the speakers, microphone, camera, and sensors.

Review: Ivyskin Quattro-T2 Polysilicone Case for iPhone 3G

Our rating of the Quattro-T2 requires a little explanation. We were substantially pleased with the Quattro-T2’s protection, which thanks to the rubber casing provides everything from a usable but protected ringer switch to covered front, side, and top buttons, plus those generally accessory-friendly flaps.

The bottom one can be held open to let the encased iPhone 3G dock in Universal Docks, and the top one works with all headphones. But we weren’t huge fans of the touch-through glass, which looks good but does modestly impede screen sensitivity, or the rear Apple logo plastic insert, an unnecessary design element that cheapens the case and requires extra vigilance from the user.
