IvySkin’s Renegade ($40) for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is essentially a half-hard shell that wraps around a rubber layer, encasing the iPhone. Renegade features coverage for the sleep/wake button and volume controls. As with many cases, a slight lip offers protection for the front of the phone.
The case also comes with IvySkin’s XYLOGlass screen protector packed in. We received the Renegade for both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and the price and design are the same for both versions of the case.
IvySkin’s Renegade offers solid protection and a nice fit for both of Apple’s newest iPhones. The button coverage is well done, and the port cutouts are precise, though the Lightning port hole may not leave enough space for some third-party cables.
Renegade’s included glass screen protector, though optional to use, is a nice bonus. The only thing we’re not really crazy about is the design on the back of the case, which conspicuously includies IvySkin’s own branding — we’d prefer something more subtle. But overall, Renegade is a good case at a good price, and it earns our general recommendation.
