Lounge Dock ($40) is Just Mobile’s second charging dock for Apple Watch, following the release of TimeStand. While TimeStand was a thick, solid piece of aluminum, Lounge Dock features a weighted aluminum non-slip base with an adjustable side arm and charging plastic “cuff.” A small molded recess on the back side of the cuff makes it easy to insert the Apple Watch charger, but the dock doesn’t feature any true cable management feature.

Lounge Dock is easy to put together, as you can pretty much just screw in the sidearm by hand. After the charger is placed in the cuff, it’s ready to go. We had no issues with charging, and the moveable cuff is a great feature — some may prefer the Apple Watch’s screen facing forward, while others might prefer a display pointing skyward. Caveats: the stand is short enough that it requires tucking the watchband under the cuff, and the design of the dock doesn’t offer much in the way of cable management.

It’s also worth noting that the open backed cuff can allow for watchOS 2’s Nightstand Mode — however, the watch isn’t nearly as secure in this position, and Just Mobile doesn’t reference this mode, either. If you want a dock specifically for Nightstand Mode, it’s probably best to keep looking.

An affordable aluminum-based dock, Lounge Dock is another strong Apple Watch charging stand from Just Mobile. If you prefer something a bit more solid with a stronger look, you’ll likely prefer the company’s TimeStand instead. But Lounge Dock offers more versatility, and just like TimeStand, it earns our strong general recommendation. (Ed. note: our initial photos had the base installed incorrectly.)
