TimeStand ($40) is Just Mobile’s first Apple Watch stand. As any casual follower of Just Mobile would guess, TimeStand is made of aluminum. It’s a relatively small stand with an oval-shaped rubberized bottom. A small channel lets users run the Apple Watch’s charging cable down the side of the stand and out the back.
When standing on its own, TimeStand looks like a strange, small sculpture.
It won’t take up much space on your nightstand, as it stands just 4” tall and is about 2” across at its widest point. Though it only weighs about 0.9 ounces, its weight is mostly at the bottom — it feels solid and shouldn’t tip during use. We like the way the charging cable is managed; it’s simple but effective, and shouldn’t damage the wire. One thing to note, however — all of Just Mobile’s promo shots show an Apple Watch with the band looped.
You can charge the watch without looping the band — as seen below — but it’s a bit more awkward here than it is with most stands, due to the small gap between the top and bottom of the stand. It seems like a minor thing, but it’s more convenient to simply mount the watch with an uncurled band at the end of a long day.
Just Mobile’s TimeStand is small and stylish, and gets the job done. If all things were equal, we’d probably prefer Nomad’s aluminum stand, but that stand is substantially more expensive than Just Mobile’s offering. Spigen’s inexpensive stand is mostly aluminum, but it’s also a bit light.
