Lunatik’s Seismik, which we last reviewed for iPhone 5, has surfaced for iPhone 6. Described as a “suspension frame,” the case provides full button coverage, even for the ringer switch. The TPU frame is molded to a hardshell for rear protection of the device.
Seismik comes in three separate colors — all are translucent on the back. The case is designed to meet or exceed military drop test standards.
As in the last version of Seismik, Lunatik cleverly includes ringer switch protection on the frame by using a switch that can be moved toward or away from a user. Much of Seismik’s appeal will come from its unique truss design.
This time around, the back is translucent from the top to the bottom of the frame, revealing more of the phone. It’s a sleek look, but the frame does add a bit more bulk to the sides of a phone when compared to most cases.
We really like Seismik’s design, but the frame’s thickness may be an issue for some — it certainly would be a bigger issue on the iPhone 6 Plus, but we’re only reviewing the iPhone 6 version of the case. There’s not enough here to recommend Seismik over the very best cases for iPhone 6, but it’s still a good, protective case at a fair price.
