It’s not often that you hear the word “trash” mentioned in any regard when it comes to, well, pretty much anything a company wants people to buy. The term is front and center though when it comes to Miniwiz’s Re-Case for iPhone 4 ($25). That’s because this case is made by a company that specializes in green technology, and the material is composed of rice farming by-products and post-consumer plastics. The shell fits around the body of the iPhone 4, hugging its sides but leaving the top and bottom edge exposed. Openings along the left side for the side switch and volume buttons are designed for the GSM version of the iPhone 4 only, meaning it can’t support the Sprint or Verizon iPhone 4, or any iPhone 4S. There’s also a recess in the case for an RFID card, and an electromagnetic shield is included to keep the phone from wiping the data on the card. In our preliminary testing the case was extremely hard to take off.
