Unlike the static cling films that dominate the iPod, iPhone, and iPad screen protector market, Moshi’s iVisor AG ($30) follows a different path. This anti-glare film solution for the iPad 2 promises and delivers 100% bubble-free application by hiding sticky rubber under opaque bezel coverage, a technique that avoids actually sticking anything on the tablet’s screen. Once you align iVisor AG to the device’s face, it’s easy to stick on and use right away without having to work air bubbles out of the film, and you can peel iVisor off to stick on its original backing when you don’t want the coverage — all you need to do is avoid creasing the thin layer of clear plastic. The installation was certainly one of the easiest we’ve ever done for an iPad, and although there’s a small gap between the touchscreen and the film that can be felt at times, this does not detract significantly from the overall use experience. iVisor AG also looks good by anti-glare film standards; there is not much clouding or dimming, although there is a bit of a prismatic effect. The only downside is added finger drag when using the film. Moshi offers both black and white versions to match the face color options of the iPad 2.
