Moshi’s new Muse ($30) illustrates the difference between merely releasing an iPad-sized sleeve case and actually designing one that really looks and feels great. Over the past seven or so years, Moshi became known for its excellent use of microfiber fabrics in iPod and iPhone pouches such as iPouch, and Muse takes the material to another level, with tailoring, stitching, and thickness that are akin to a high-quality sofa rather than a typical bag, additionally capable of cleaning the iPad’s screen and body on insertion and removal. Available in four colors, Muse has a second-toned front flap that seals with two hidden magnets to protect both the iPad and a large front accessory compartment that could hold anything from headphones to a power supply. The flap’s angle, metallic Moshi nameplate, and contrast stitching all smack of actual design quality, as does the eco-friendly packaging, making this the sleeve to beat for its reasonable price.
