As new variations on its earlier, cheap-feeling passive speaker amplifiers for the iPhone 4, Ozaki has released the bizarrely-named iSuppli Gramo ($50) and iCarry Time2brick ($25) — the former a supposedly “eco-friendly speaker with charging dock” and the latter a “unique FaceTime stand for iPhone 4.” Packaged in yet another of Ozaki’s wastefully huge boxes, iSupply Gramo apparently achieves eco-friendliness by using a gramophone-shaped tube to boost the audio of either iPhone by 15 decibels — a huge jump that unfortunately isn’t matched by improved fidelity, but does enable you to hear even the less powerful iPhone 4 speaker very clearly without using additional power. iCarry Time2brick similarly offers a passive audio boost, but in the form of two rubber Lego-like blocks that join together. Both require your iPhone 4 or 4S to be bare for insertion; iSupply Gramo includes a cable for connection to a computer, while iCarry Time2brick comes with no electronics and has a space where you can connect your own cable.
