The Philips Easel Case for iPad ($60) is an interesting combination of two different case concepts: the outside is a matte-finished hard flip case that attaches with Velcro to an iPad play-through design that mixes soft and hard neoprene.
Using the parts separately, you have an iPad with full screen and button accessibility, while joining them together gives you the ability to reposition the iPad on your choice of angles for video viewing purposes.
While we’re not crazy about the Sleep/Wake button or headphone port holes, which leave the device far too recessed for easy access to these features, the other ones are cut better, and the concept of a hybrid case like this actually works well to provide the better features of video viewing and play-through designs.
