Though there’s no getting around the fact that Plaid Doctrine’s new iPad Sleeve ($79) is expensive by any standard — particularly given that it’s really just a sleeve — the company gets a little extra credit for some of the details of the design. The case is made using fabrics that come from recycled bottles, an eco-friendly fact that you’d never know from looking at the cool materials, and there are two generous pockets on the front that can hold accessories or other items that are roughly twice the volume of an iPhone. While the iPad compartment is a little on the generous side, there’s enough padding and room for fingers to grab the device that it doesn’t feel totally off-kilter. We’re actually quite interested to see what this company comes up with next for the iPad.
