PowerSkin’s Spare ($80) is a battery case for iPhone 6 which comes in space gray, gold, or silver. Packing a 2200 mAh battery, Spare is more of a battery shell than a full battery case — it offers no coverage for the top or sides of an iPhone 6.
A power button is on the back of the case next to four lights, which show how much battery life remains. Of course, a micro-USB cable is included for charging.

Though PowerSkin plays up Spare’s thinness, the case isn’t noticeably thinner than most other iPhone 6 battery cases we’ve seen.
Battery performance was disappointing — though Spare promised a full recharge, we only saw the iPhone recharged to 86 percent in two separate tests.
Spare isn’t awful, but it is bested by other iPhone 6 battery cases we’ve seen in every conceivable way. Its battery performance is lackluster, it doesn’t offer enough protection, and it’s even a bit of a hassle getting the phone in and out of the case.
